ABOUT
I am a DIY artist from Grand Rapids Michigan focusing on videography, computer interface research, and my own special blend of electronic rock.
Now that I have graduated from my BSE/MSE, I am committed to showing the world that anyone can be a rockstar if they push themselves to grow.
I like to wear many hats & am always learning!
Music
Covid really stirred life up for me, and I didn't have any drummers nearby for a while. I heard this Kurt Cobain interview; he regretted not recording all of the Nirvana tracks alone with an acoustic guitar. This inspired me to build a robot drummer and perform on my own - like some "One Man Frankenstein from the Microwave" band. My dream is to one day squeeze the entire sound through a single cable live.
PUBLICATIONS
I can distinctly remember the moment my curiosity towards electronics began. It was my freshman year of college, and I had just watched the video of the DaVinci robot perform grape surgery. I was mind blown.
As a child I remember being taught that robots would not be precise enough in my lifetime to perform surgery "like in Star Wars".
My research pertains to the study of the hand as a human interfacing tool for computers. I strive to make this technology smart, cheap, and safe.
